Meatballs in tomato sauce

- Pour water, passata, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of dried basil and oregano, bay leaf into a deeper pot and bring to the boil.

- Add rice, egg, 2/3 teaspoon salt, pepper, salsa, coriander, ground red pepper, 1/4 teaspoon dried basil and oregano to the minced meat and mix well
- Shape meatballs the size of smaller apricots

- Add the meatballs to the boiling tomato sauce, cover and cook over low heat for about 40 minutes
- Check the taste of the sauce and add salt or pepper to taste
The sauce will thicken due to rice starch, but if it is too runny you can add 1 teaspoon of starch flour dissolved in 1 ml of cold water. -
- Serve with mashed potatoes
